1. The Biggest Security Threat to Online Banking... The Customer?
Surprisingly, it is sometimes the
customer who unknowingly gives away
their online login information. The scam is called "phishing" and has
deceived
millions across the country(see article below).
Last week, one of our staff
members received one of these conning e-mails. This particular scam was
a legitimate looking e-mail
asking the customer to verify their bank card and
PIN numbers.
Education
is the answer:
- Show your customer how to verify
they are
accessing your true web
site.
- Show them simple ways to spot "false" sites waiting to steal their
login.
Background
article:
MSNBC: Nearly 2 million Americans have had their checking accounts
raided by
criminals in the past 12 months, according to a soon-to-be released
survey by market research group Gartner. Consumers reported an average
loss per incident of $1,200, pushing total losses higher than $2
billion for the year.

2. Tax Credits Anyone? Your Kiosk or iPoster Probably Qualifies
Your state isn't giving away money, but it does want you to
spend more of it on training equipment. In fact, they want to help
lower your next tax bill. In
most states, computer equipment and hardware bought for the use of
repetitive staff training may be eligible for a state tax credit.
Kiosks and some digital signage
applications can play training videos, provide interactive learning
experiences, and/or test your bankers on what they learned. These items
may be a qualifying expense. Banks can recover up to 1/2 of their
training and equipment costs back in tax credits.
"These types of credits are
consistently overlooked by banks, large and small. Our job is to decode
the laws and develop a tax credit strategy for each one of our
customers and their unique situation."

3. Plasma or LCD
For Digital Signage: Know The difference?
Our phone doesn't stop ringing
with this exact question.
What we know:
- A 42" plasma costs about 1/2 the price of a 40" LCD screen
- A 42" plasma has about 1/2 the life of a 40" LCD screen
Using these parameters, the
confusion begins.
Why?
You can buy (2) 42" plasma screens for the price of (1) average 40" LCD
screen.
Why not buy one plasma, and
replace it in 2 years when the prices have fallen through the floor? In
this scenario, the plasma is the obvious answer.
Maybe you don't like running
around replacing screens and quality and life span are important to
you? In this scenario, the LCD is the obvious answer.
Still confused, you are not alone.
Each display type has its advantages, for the technical guru, maybe
this article
can help you decide.

4. ABA Marketing Network Annual Meeting Success!
Member:
They came, they saw, they learned.
The ABA held its 2004 marketing meeting at the Scottsdale Hyatt at
Gainey Ranch. We were a first time exhibitor that demonstrated our
products, met new customers, and saw some old friends too. The western
theme permeated every aspect of the conference, from the food, to
the opening night costume party.
Next year the meeting
will be in Miami. Maybe we will see you there!

|
- Protect your brand.
- Protect your investment.
- Protect your customers private information.
The Solution:
Hire someone to stand next to your kiosk all day long.
or...
Hire a professional kiosk management company to monitor your kiosk
status. Not only will this protect your brand, but will let you focus
on what you do best.
